i have been told that my blog is "seriously out of date" and i agree.
please believe me when i say that i actually used to be very good with posting stuff on my blog..
confession - i have become slack
moving on!

just got back from mozambique. yes, i went again...
thinking of building a little shack on the beach in tofo so i can go there for the weekends. haha.. no not really. it actually takes a weekend to get there! as we learnt on this trip.
quick story about the bus trip (oh_i havent told my parents this one) OK-something new for you both! :)
when we went last year, we took 2 bus drivers...simply because its a bluddy long drive! so they got to alternate when one was about to pass out.
this time - ONE driver.
we were well on our way to arriving at our final destination... we were in Xai-Xai (pronounced Shai-Shai), about a good 7-8 hours from Tofo beach. When the bus driver...i guess... was pretty exhausted and hit the brakes instantly as he was a little close to the truck infront of us...when Sam went full force into the chair infront of him, and slammed his ribs against the chair... he was in a lot of pain so we decided to take him to the hospital...at this time it was about 4pm and we had planned on being in Tofo at around 9.
we were falling way behind schedule.
eventually found a hospital and Oliver took him through. Apparently the doctors had no idea what was going on and started treating him for malaria! they even took blood tests.. ridiculous.
At this point the bus was parked outside the hospital and the group were getting very restless.. it was about 8pm.
The decision was made that we would not get to Tofo that night so we spent the night in Xai-Xai, in the bus, parked outside the hospital while Sam was being looked at. Went to a little restaurant quite close to the hospital. The dinner was paid for by Sean and Oliver....we got onto the bus and went back to the hospital...We left for Tofo the next morning while Sean stayed with Sam..
soon enough they found a doctor who spoke some english and could treat him and had to operate immediately.
His spleen was removed at about 3am... amongst power cuts and the usual....
He was then airlifted to Joburg in a little Mozambiquan helicopter! And he is doing fine!
What was meant to be a 22 hour bus trip..turned into a 34 hour trip! we left Joburg 11pm friday night and got to Tofo Sunday lunchtime! After the bus got stuck in the sand... and we attempted to push it...that didnt work...and we then carried bags and surfboards to Bamboozi. Was exciting stuff I tell you!

id love to share the stories from the trip with you but its time to cook so il post some pictures!

alright_enough talking....picture time!
