mozambique
well...where shall i begin? i would really love to tell you all the tiny details but that would just be too much of a mission :) so il try give you a bit of the scoop. a couple of days into the trip I started writing a journal/diary thing so il jus write down some of what was written while I was actually there!
due to me having a film test on the friday afternoon i had to fly to joburg to meet everyone there instead of taking the bus from cape town with the rest of the gang! and in fear of being on a bus for 20 hours straight marissa joined me. so on the saturday morning a very perky marissa and christina jumped on the bus to find everyone either exhausted, hanging or still drunk! it was so classic. at around 9am we left joburg and got to the border that night. the visa is styling. anyway took us a couple of hours to get to maputo and we were staying at a backpackers place there just for the night so we didnt get to see much of the capital. the next morning we set off to TOFO :) the road was never ending
we only got to tofo in the early evening so it was a bit of a drive.
journal - so sunday night consisted of everyone drinking tipo tinto (the best rum in the world), dancing to various sounds of nick’s trance music, a few went skinny-dipping in the ocean (but i would never do that)….
and the strong peeps stayed up until 6am the next day to watch the sunrise. (i was one of them! cha ching) the sunrise was just so stunning. OTSS.
note to self - if you do not manage to get a tan here there is really no point in going back home. tan tan tan :)
bamboozi (the place where we are staying) is just beautiful.
iv been trying to figure out whether the bar tabs we each have are a good or bad thing. I must admit, my tab is completely dismal compared to some of the boys. (will not mention names in order to keep ego’s at a normal level) :)
there is definitely an amazing vibe going on here. I must say we are all in a happy place!!
a little highlight for the week was when I went swimming with whale sharks. I was very very nervous…don’t really do the whole underwater thing. just because fish freak me out. don’t ask!
but it was a fantastic experience. I know my dad will be soo jealous when he reads this! sorry far :) they are such huge creatures, but very harmless. you wouldn’t think it if you saw them…one of them was swimming towards me…cant even explain what I was feeling right then! gives me shivers just thinking about it...
on the friday night we went to a party down the beach at a place called Dino’s…had a great time. half way through the night christina decided to step on a piece of broken glass and that was followed by the ladies bathroom floor being covered in pools of blood and my right foot being covered with an entire roll of plaster! the next morning I highly regretted dancing all night and now walking has certainly become a great challenge! it really is something to laugh about. (i am still feeling the pain)
there were quite a few ‘hook-ups’ this trip. im really not very surprised!
yea, I probably shouldn’t go into much detail! -random-
well, I think that’s all I have for you! final verdict... it was a stunning trip. been a highlight of my year and I loved every second of it!
these are the 'ass hut' members!! best hut ever!
